Even a small kitchen island can accommodate a few stools for meals on the go. Raised countertops have been trendy for several years, but now completely flat quartz countertops are taking the lead as the preferred style. Not all kitchens are designed to hold kitchen islands. A lot depends on the size of the interior space but there’s also the arrangement of the existing or new kitchen. There are G-shaped kitchens, L-shaped kitchens, U-shaped kitchens, and galley kitchens, and many of these don’t suit having an island in the middle. A G-shaped kitchen, which contains a peninsular section, might make the interior feel more crowded than it ideally should. A more open-plan kitchen-dining space however, where wall-based cabinets are at a premium, might benefit hugely from the addition of an island.
