Quartz has now become the most popular type of countertop, and it’s not hard to see why. A stunning expanse of polished white quartz countertops can really draw the eye to your kitchen island. White quartz of all styles, including those with a slight marbled look, are the most sought-after at this point in time. Not all kitchens are designed to hold kitchen islands. A lot depends on the size of the interior space but there’s also the arrangement of the existing or new kitchen. There are G-shaped kitchens, L-shaped kitchens, U-shaped kitchens, and galley kitchens, and many of these don’t suit having an island in the middle. A G-shaped kitchen, which contains a peninsular section, might make the interior feel more crowded than it ideally should. A more open-plan kitchen-dining space however, where wall-based cabinets are at a premium, might benefit hugely from the addition of an island.
